Is it OK to have two Full English Breakfasts in one day?

I'm a Brighton conformist, it's got so bad that when I see the word Brighton I get excited, even the thought of entering the London to Brighton bike ride is appealing just so I can spend some more time there.

Until a couple of weeks ago I had only been to Brighton a few times, one memorable moment was watching Kings of Leon at the Brighton Centre before they hit the big time and got all arrogant.

So an impromptu weekend away with the boyfriend found us in Brighton. Off the train, in a cab, dump the bags at the hotel and within about 40 minutes we were in the first place of many that I fell in love with. This is an easy feat in Brighton. There were cocktail bars, restaurants, pubs, wine bars, farmers markets, bistros, ice cream parlours and cafes aplenty before we found the amazing Bills.

It was like a firework display, every place we visited was special in it's own way but the grand finale was having a late lunch at Bills on the Sunday before we left.

Located near the Lanes (which I also fell in love with and wanted to buy everything in sight) Bills was primarily a grocery store but the produce now stands proudly around the edges of the restaurant making for a perfect back drop and easy shopping while you sit down and tuck in to breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The bar... I love how the bright raffia adds an injection of colour to the room while still in keeping with the market theme.
I took this picture while we were waiting for our table. Lining up along the side of the restaurant until a table becomes free is a clever marketing tactic, watching hungry diners devour the likes of buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup, fish finger sandwiches, quiche and full English breakfasts... It's also a sure fire way to turn me into the most indecisive diner there ever was.

I also loved the individual touches with the chalk boards and 'Bill says' quotes...

And the beautiful colours not only from the shelves and fresh produce but the 'I can see a rainbow' papers too.
After snapping away contently it was time for us to sit at our table... even then I couldn't stop. I adore this tin that the cutlery and serviettes are kept in and note the pink piece of paper in there? It's a order form so that you can order anything from the shop and they will just add it to your bill and bring it over to you when you have finished. So simple but so effective, we took some pink lemonade home in a beautiful bottle that I'm going to make Sloe gin in.
Ooh, you can see the bottle in the centre of this photo, right at the bottom...
Not only is Bills aesthetically pleasing but it tastes good too! We had both already had a full English breakfast at the hotel that morning but we still seriously considered having another after we spotted the Bill's version which looked a whole lot more appetising than our B&B fare.

After much deliberation I opted for the mezze platter of fresh toasted breads, babaganoush, houmous, olives with garlic and caperberries, tzatziki and roasted veggies with feta cheese... a feast fit for a Queen.
My boyfriend had a delicious shepherd's pie which came with huge hunks of squash in the potato mix and had a deep delicious warming flavour to the mince.

I didn't really want to leave Brighton after that, there were still so many places that I wanted to visit still, namely The Ginger Pig, Dermot O'Leary's Fishy Fishy on the seafront, the Lanes again, Havana cocktail bar, the farmers market again... must I go on?

Now you can see why the thought of going back has me so excited. I will be back Brighton, don't you worry!
